I recall somewhere around 1940/1 living in London, it was in an area near to Olympia, off Holland Park Road, I think it was called Hansard Mews. We overlooked a railway line which I believe to be the only line which crosses London, the Luftwaffe tried many times to bomb it but never succeeded. Although we lived for most of the time in air-raid shelters adjacent to the mews, the camaraderie and friendship of all the neighbours will never be forgotten.
