A Centenarian. – Robert Coles, of Gloucester-road, Croydon, attained his 104th birthday yesterday. Born at Canterbury, he served for 15 years in the old 68th Regiment (Durham Light Infantry), and passed through the Crimean campaign as an officer’s servant. He fixes his age from the fact that in (?)1888(?) he was rejected for the Dragoons for being over (?)30(?), his enlistment for the Infantry only being accomplished by understating his years.
